LBCSCL 2018-2019

The LBCSCL is the aggregate of the chess playing schools in Bucks and Montgomery Counties that began back in the mid-1960s.  Our vision seeks to bring all of the chess players in our area together and encourage grown in chess. We hope that someday all area schools will promote competitive chess as a means to encourage academic excellence.

If you are a player, parent of a player, or faculty member of a school and want to bring LBCSCL to your school, please contact us at our varsitychess@gmail.com. We would love to work with you!

Three or more teams ties in points will be broken in the following manner: 1) Boards won. 2)Highest ranked player by LBCSCL Individual standings by quality points.

2018-2019 LBCSCL Playoffs

 D1: Abington WC3: Norristown
 D2: Pennsbury WC2: Willliam Tennent
 D3 :Hatboro  WC1:Upper Dublin
 D4: Plymouth Whitemarsh

 D5:   Perk Valley

Explanation of Tiebreaker: Abington sits in the one seed currently because they have played more games. Pennsbury will pass them on boards once the games are played.  Note that CRS and GA are behind in games and will eventually hop into this playoff picture!

The eight teams of the LBCSCL playoffs will represent the divisional winners from each of the five divisions and three wildcards. Divisional Winners will be decided by the tiebreaks above. Wildcard teams will be determined by the highest ranking teams that did not win the division. Ties will be broken by the system outlined above. Note that teams may not play each other for a 3rd time unless no other matching possibilities remain. Repairings will occur by moving the worse seed down one slot to avoid the 3rd matchup. If the 8th seed is the one being repaired, they will be moved up one slot.
